In this assignment, I wanted to convey my thoughts about tennis. I chose to use a still life with my the racket for my first image because I wanted to work with an idea that from the outside, tennis seems really simple. I mean, after all, all one uses for tennis is a racket. However, I wanted to shed light on the fact that because tennis is, for the most part, an individual sport, there is a huge mental part to the game. I wanted to convey the mental side of tennis by using inversion and changing the color of my images to work with color theory. Although I was still only using a tennis racket and ball, I think I was able to show a different side to the game of tennis.
My favorite photo from this assignment is the ninth image. I liked this one the best because I liked how it showed the way that I think about tennis, and the fluidity of the game. I love tennis and I feel like I was able to discover new things about the game that I didn't know before, through my images.
