Kasra _ Works In Progress
In this project, I feel a desire to represent my culture. The culture that I was raised in, and that is in my blood is Persian culture. For these photographs, I feel that it would be amazing to go to Tehrangeles, more commonly known as Persian Square (Westwood Blvd.), and capture the shopkeepers and citizens in supermarkets, restaurants, and bookstores there. Colored film would most likely suit this project best to give it a more authentic feeling. I’m excited about this, and I think I could also incorporate the images in the studio with mirrors and family photos on it. I want to investigate and celebrate what makes me Iranian.
